Ashwin month, which begins on October 16, 2024, at 8:45 PM and ends on October 17 at
4:50 PM. This day is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. On
Sharad Purnima, the moon is believed to be full of all 16 phases, enhancing the significance
of the worship. It is said that taking a holy dip on this day washes away sins and leads to
salvation.
Special Yogas on Sharad Purnima 2024 :
This year, special yogas are forming on Sharad Purnima:
Ravi Yoga: From 6:23 AM to 7:18 PM.
Dhruv Yoga: From morning until 10:10 AM.
Vyaghat Yoga: Following Dhruv Yoga.
Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra: Until 7:18 PM, followed by Revati Nakshatra.
Panchak: Present throughout the day.
These special yogas enhance the significance of worship, allowing devotees to perform their
rituals with devotion and faith.
Worship Method for Sharad Purnima :
The worship method holds particular importance on this day. Here’s a comprehensive
procedure:
1. Bath and Preparation: Wake up, bathe, and clean your home temple.
2. Idol Installation: Spread red or yellow cloth on a wooden platform and place the idols of
Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu.
3. Lighting the Lamp and Incense: Light a ghee lamp and offer incense before the idols.
4. Tilak and Offerings: Bathe the idols with Ganga water, apply tilak with rice and roli, and
offer white sweets or kheer along with red or yellow flowers.
5. Lighting Diyas: At moonrise, light 100 earthen lamps filled with pure ghee.
6. Worshipping Kheer: Place kheer in an earthen pot and cover it with a sieve under the
moonlight.
7. Vigil and Recitation: Stay awake all night, reciting Vishnu Sahasranama, Shri Sukta, Krishna
Madhurashtaksham, and Kanakadhara Stotra, beginning with Lord Ganesha;s aarti.
8. Distribution of Prasad: The next morning, bathe at Brahma Muhurta, offer the kheer to
Goddess Lakshmi, and then distribute it as prasad among family members.
Significance of Keeping Kheer Under the Moonlight
On this night, the moon is believed to shower nectar, and the kheer absorbs its medicinal
properties, enhancing health.
Remedies According to Lal Kitab Astrology and Sharad Purnima

adversely affect a person;s life. Sharad Purnima is particularly important when the moon is
full of all 16 phases.
Chandrodaya Timing: Offering an oblation at the time of the moonrise is highly beneficial.
Materials Needed: Raw milk, sugar, and rice.
Japa and Offering:
1. Mix raw milk, sugar, and rice in a silver vessel.
2. Stand facing the moon at moonrise and chant ॐ ऐं क्लीं सोमाय नमः;
continuously to attract the moon;s blessings.

member eat it the next day.
3. For Business and Job Gains: Light a four-faced lamp before Lord Hanuman for success in
business and job promotions.
4. Tulsi Worship: After bathing, worship the Tulsi plant and light a lamp near it in the evening
to increase prosperity.
5. Offering White Offerings: Offer white sweets to Tulsi for blessings from Goddess Lakshmi
and Lord Vishnu.
6. Offerings to Goddess Lakshmi: Offer Singhara, curd, fox nuts, and sweet puffs to Goddess
Lakshmi for her continuous blessings.
7. Eye Care: Perform Trataka (a meditation technique) under the moonlight to enhance
eyesight.
